I've decided ro combine two of my favorite pastimes to blog about.
It's all about fueling my body, soul and spirit.
During the past few years I have enjoyed discovering and even creating special recipes . My goal is to prepare and create dishes that are healthy and full of flavor. In this season of life we find it best to exercise discipline when it comes to eating. There have been successes, flops and everything in between.
And my soul and spirit? For 25 years the Lord has given me the privilege to get to know Him through the reading and study of His Word. This has involved discovery, research and special recipes as well.
Bible teachers call this process application. As I have journeyed toward a deeper understanding of God, there have been mountain-top heights, valley depths and everything in between.
My Supreme Guide for these pastimes has been, and continues to be the LORD.
So check in on a regular basis as I share fresh ways to season my life ....food on the table for our bodies and food from His Word for our souls and spirits.

Words
My words..........................your words.
Strong words..........................gentle words.
Words that lift.
Words that crush.
Words of joy.
Words of grief.
I consider words.
I read words, write words and cling to words.
Words have contributed to how I see me....how I see you.....how I see Jesus.
Jesus? Yes....I pick up my bible and word after word ,
He, who is the Living Word (see John 1:1-14)
wraps His Words around my heart.
All hail the power of Jesus name let angels prostrate fall,
Bring forth the royal diadem and crown Him Lord of all.
Bring forth the the royal diadem and crown Him Lord of all.
Thank you Lord, for your Words!

Good News For A New Year
It's the second sunday of the new year and I find a blessing tucked into my "inbox". Sharing it with you 'cause it's too special to keep all to myself!!
Another blog from my sister blogger Holley Gerth.
Enjoy!
All things really are possible for you
I wrote in the last post about walking on water. Let's finish that story...
As I'm sure you remember, Peter starts off well, takes a few steps, and begins to sink. Jesus asks, "Why did you doubt?"
I pause and ponder, "Who did Peter doubt? Jesus or himself?"
And it seems there's a whisper in response...
Same thing.
What I mean is this...
I no longer live but Christ lives in me. Galatians 2:20
I'm still quick to protest, "But I have so many weaknesses!"
And then I remember that every promise given and every truth declared was for us, all of us, and none of us have it together.
Our humanity isn't too much for God.
Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it's the Lord's purpose that prevails. Proverbs 19:21
There is nothing God can't do through a heart fully surrendered to Him.
Nothing.
Lead an entire nation through a desert.
Knock down a giant with a single stone.
Fulfill His purpose for your life.
Let's believe that in us, through us, in spite of us...
With God all things are possible. Matthew 19:26
What does this sound like in our everyday lives?
"This seems impossible for me. But nothing is impossible for the God who lives in me. That means all things really are possible for me too. I can do this with Him."
Now that's good news for a new year!
Can I get an "amen" and a "woo-hoo" too?

New Things
Finally....
It's a new day...the first...2011 has arrived.
Promises and possibilities of new things are filling my mind.
Doesn't God talk about "new things"?
"Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert."
Isaiah 43:18-19 NKJV
Can you feel it?
The sky is bluer - the clouds as if individually placed.
The birds are holding their collective breaths.
God is up to something - large scale.
It's going to stretch our thinking and test our memories.
"Then He who sat on the throne said, "Behold, I make all things new." And He said to me, "Write, for these words are true and faithful."
Revelation 21:5 NKJV
Ready, set - GO!
